FIRE AT WAITARA.

New Pi-TMOtrrH, Monday. A kirk which occurred at Waitaxa at three o'clock this morning totally destroyed an unoccupied shop aad dwelling owned by Mr. W. D. Webster, of New Plymouth, also a building owned by Mrs. Baker, of New Plymouth, and occupied as offices by the Waitara Borough Council, Clifton County Council, and others. Adjoining buildings narrowly escaped. Webster's building was insured for £250 in the Law, Union, and Crown, and Baker's for £150 in the North British Office. The contents were saved.
