ASSAULTS ON WOMEN AND CHILDREN.
Sir,—l heartily concur with all "Pater* familias" say.; about those ruffians who insult in the most revolting manner women and children; shore are scores of cases that never are heard of simply because the child or woman or her people dread publicity Mid the reiteration in both Courts of all the disI gusting details. [ think I shall adopt) " Paterfamilias' plan and have my girls trained to shoot straight, as already they have narrowly escaped being insulted twice. Once the eldest girl was sprung upon from a dark corner of the road at. night, and only ■ escaped because her dog. unpereeiyed by her assailant, as he had been wandering behind, hearing her cries rushed to her assistance and bit the man so savagely that he ran for hi* life. Another time the second girl was waiting for hoi* sister in the vicinity of Mount lloskill, when the was seized by a man with his hat pulled down over his eyes. She screamed, and her sister running to her assistance die man made off. These are only two out of many cases that, are constantly recurring, and will continue until aj* example is made of these who are caught. .MaterfaSiiuas.
