MATCH WITH KENT. By Telegraph—Press Association.—Copyright. London-, August 24. Tjik Australians began, a match with Kent, at Canterbury to-day. The weather was delightful, and the wicket was fast. The attendance was 3000. Gregory, Laver, Duff, and Newland are standing out of the colonial team. Darling won the toss, and sent the county team into the field. Trumper played a fine innings, and hit eight fours. Noble and Darling while together largely increased the score. Noble played a careful innings, being at the wickets a couple of hours, and at times was very aggressive.. He hit nine fours, three in one over. Barling, when 69, was missed twice in one over.
