THE VOUCHER MYSTERY.
NO TRACE DISCOVERED. [BY TM.EGB.VPH.—SFKCIAL CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Thursday. It is understood that the statements of the Christchurch witnesses who have given evidence before the Auditor-General in regard to the voucher incident failed to disclose any trace, of the voucher, or of the payment alleged to have been made, to Captain Seddon. It is stated thai had the. payment been made, a record of it would remain in the books of the Treasury, even if the voucher was not to be found. The report, which, it is understood, will state that there is no such voucher as alleged in existence, will be presented to the House to-morrow afternoon.
