ALLEGATION OF INSOLVENCY.

New York, July 28. A suit has been commenced in the New York Supreme Court for the appointment of a receiver of the assets of the Equitable Life Assurance Society. The assets are valued at 421,000,000 dollars. The complainants allege that the society is insolvent owing to waste and misappropriation.
