Christchurch, Thursday. The selectors of the North Island versus South Island hockey match being unable to procure players, the committee of the New Zealand Hockey Association has decided to abandon the match. ■
mi , Dunedin, Thursday. The Education Board is sending the chairman and Mr. Mitchell as a deputation to Wellington to explain the position of the new normal school. Mr. Kerr, stationmaster at Mosgiel, died this morning. He had been ailing for some weeks. He was transferred from Clinton in April last.
