STATE BRICKWORKS. Melbourne, July 26. In the Legislative Assembly Mr. Bent, in moving the Surplus Revenue Bill, announced yesterday that the surplus for the year from all sources was £508,000. Amongst the items included in the Bill is £9600 for the erection of State brickworks. Mr. Bent declared that he would not allow the State to be robbed by a combine who wished to charge £2 per 1000 for bricks when they could get them at 255.
