OBITUARY.
CAPTAIN J. FISHER.
The death occurred on Saturday morning of Captain J. Fisher, for many years past officer hi charge'.of the Mount Victoria Bignal station. The deceased was 76 years old; .and had been in bad health, for two months. Ho leaves a widow, two daughters, and a son (Mr. J. Fisher (of the Union Steam {Ship Company's staff). The deceased Officer first came to the colony nearly 40 years ago, in command of the barque Bella Mary,' of Hobart. Later he transferred to the command of the barque Loongana, after which ho • joined the Auckland Harbour .Board, .■ and acted as harbourmaster for about 10 yearSj then taking the position he held at the time of his death. The funeral lof the late Captain Fisher took place yes'terday afternoon at O'Neill's Point cemetery.
