'Recently Sergeant-Major Lewis, ati old artilleryman, met with a serious accident while entraining artillery horses at Caulficld, Victoria, en route to the encampment at Langwarrin. His left leg .was badly broken through the horses backing against the heavy door of tlie truck, the door of which had not been fastened, and fell back with the weight of a horse on top on to Lewis, who received the full shock on his half-bent knees.
