Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mandel aud the Misses Mandel (3), of Wellington have completed arrangements to leave on an 18 months' tour, sailing by the White Star liner Gothic on the 25th iost. In London they will be joined by Mr. Mandel, jua., who is studying medicine, for the purposes of a Continent*! journey, including a visit to Hungary, Mr. Maffldel's native country." The return to New Zealand will most probably be made via America.
At the Native Land Court Office, Customs Buildings, yesterday, .lodge Brown, late registrar of the Court, was presented by the stall with a ease of cutlery and an afternoon tea service on the occasion ot his approaching marriage. Among visitors to Australasia, at present is a young French nobleman, Count Al- - le Fleurrier. The Count is visiting every place connected with tile explorations of the earh French navigator:,, his great-great-uncl© having been the Minister of Marine who was responsible for sending out several French expeditions to Australian waters. The Count, after touring Tasmania, left recently for Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney, after which he intends visiting New Zealand, for the purpose of seeing AJkaroa and other places settled in early times by the French'.
A pleasing ceremony took place yesterday, at Messrs. H. Miller and Co.'s warehouse, Fort-street, whoa Mr. H. Samways, on behalf of the firm's employees, presented the principals daughter, Miss Florence Miller, with a handsome marble timepiece, on the occasion of her approach* ing marriage with Mr. James Browne, of the Lands Department. Miss Miller returned thanks to the donors . for their loudness and expressions of goodwill, after ■which, at the invitation of Ms. Henry Miller, the health of the bride and bride-jjgroom-elect was drunk with enthusiasm.
