London, May 2. Telkgkams from Tokio say that important events in connection with the naval operations may be expected within ten days. Piainy and foggy weather prevails in the China Sea. THE THIRD SQUADRON. PASSES SINGAPORE. (Received May I', 10.25 p.m.) London, May 2. A telegram from Tokio says that Rear-Admiral Niebogatoff squadron passed Singapore on Saturday. BALTIC FLEET'S COURSE, VIA THE PHILIPPINES. London, May 1. It is reported at Saigon that the Baltic fleet is steaming towards the Philippines, and that it, is expected that the third squadron and the warships from Vladivostok will meet there. Part of the Baltic fleet is at present outside the French territorial limits, at a point 40 miles north of Kamranh Bay. Russian, German, i and British transports are lying off Cape St. James and Saigon. FRANCE'S NEUTRALITY, WARSHIPS PATROLLING. London, May 1. The French warships on the Cochin China station have been mobilised, and are patrolling the coast to preserve France's neutrality. The Cochin China squadron usually consists of three cruisers anil a- torpedo-boat, but it may have been leiut'orced. JAPAN AGAIN PROTESTS. (Receive! May 2, 10.25 p.m.) ) London, May 2. j The Tokio newspapers say that there is a renewal of irritation in Japan owing to the continuous use of French ports by the Baltic fleet. The Japanese Government is about to again send a remonstrance to France against her breaches of neutrality.
