A SENSATIONAL VOYAGE.
As account of the sensational voyage of the German barque Bonn from Sydney to Falmouth has been received by mail. The Bonn sailed from Sydney on December 3 last with a cargo of 14,972 bags of wheat, and everything went well until she was approaching her destination on March IX last, when ehe encountered a terriiic tempest. The position of the Bonn at this time was lat, 39 north and long. 12.13 west. For four days the gale raged with unabated fury, aijd during th« whole of this time the vessel was in peril. The winds at--allied th« strength of. a hurricane, and mountainous ?eae were running and constantly breaking over th« barque. Many of her t>ajls were lost, and others were blown into ribbons. All of the ship's boats were washed overboard, and the skids were carried away. intensive llamage waa also done to the deck fittings. During the height of the tempest <•!}« firvfc and second officers were carried overboard by gigantic seas, and were never seen again. It was, of course, impossible in such a terrific seaway to afford any assistance, and the unfortunate men, soon sank. On March 14 the gale moderated, much to the relief of all concerned, and she once more stood on her course.
