Wellington, Wednesday. I'm; chief mechanical engineer of the Government railways re ma iked, at a presentation function to Mr. Pctcrkiii, that the building of locomotives within Iho colony was being proceeded with satisfactorily. The 10 engines that were being built at the Thames were a credit to New Zealand, as well as to the makers. They were being made as well us they could he in any purl of the world.
