[by TELEGRAPH.—PRESS • association.] CiißiSTCiitructT, Wednesday. The Lyttelton Harbour Board has decided not to agree to any plans for a new bridge over the Heathcote unless they provide for a swing or lift bridge, as it is possible that, in future coal and timber may be shipped up ilie river, that being one of the means that could be adopted to compete against railway rates through the tunnel, if they were not reduced. A motion that dredging spoil from Lyttelton Harbour should be deposited outside the North Head, instead of in Camp Bay, which is the present method, and which result* in the silting up of the harbour, was discussed at the meeting of tho. Board to-day. An amendment was moved by Mr. G. 'Laurenson, M.H.8.. that the spoil be used to reclaim 55 acree in the west, side ol the breakwater, at an estimated cost, of £561 10s per acre. The di ...-lon was; adjourned. • '*
