AUCKLAND PROVINCIAL TOURNAMENT-. The annual provincial tournament, under tho auspices of tho Auckland l'olo Association, eminences at Hamilton to-day, and a. successful gathering is expected. Tlio tournament will take place upon Mr. J. Knight s farm, and in all eight teams will compote in tlio championship and other events. The clubs represented will bo Auckland, Remuera, Clevedon, I'uni. Waiugaro, Cambridge, Tauwliarc, and Hamilton, and as the country players have of 'ate made rapid .strides in thy game, somo close contests may confidently be looked forward to. The town teams "(Auckland and Remuera), with their ponies, went on to Hamilton yesterday, the members being as follows:—Auckland: H. Clark, ,S. Raker. 11. Tnnks. W. Pittar. Remuera: .lack son, G. Meredith, 1). Gorrio, 15. Nolan. Mr. 11. Cotter, * captain of the Remuera Club, and Mr. C. Crowtlier. also of the Remuera Club, were unable to go, and tlio team will consequently not bo ouito as strong as was at first hoped for. Tho tournament matches will bo completed on lr'nuay, . and on Saturday tho usual spoils and races will l»o held.
