Till-: current issue of the AUCKLAND Wkkkly Ni.ws contains an unusually large number of attractive illustrations, dealing with subjects of wide general interest, as well as numerous pictures of beautiful New Zealand scenery. The international athletic carnival, held last Saturday at the Auckland Domain, is illustrated by a fine series of snapshots of the most important events. The presence of two world's champion run; iters invested the meeting with unusual interest, and lite News' special photographer obtained some excellent pictures of the renowned A. E. Shrubb and A. F. Duffey putting tip their record performances. Other current, events dealt with include the unveiling of the Maori memorial at Opotiki by the Hon. J. Carroll, the opening of the new public school at Whangarei, the funeral of the late Sir Alfred Jerome Cadinun, the fire at Berhampore school, Wellington, and the Shrubb-Dulley athletic meeting at. Wellington. The double-page of the issue is devoted to a beautiful scene in the wonderful iiordland on the west coast of the South Island. The picture, which is one of the News' special double-page reproductions, depicts a- charming view of Lake Ada. near Milford Sound, and conveys some idea of the attractiveness and grandeur of New Zealand's unrivalled iiordland. Numerous oilier groups, views, and portraits, including the late. Very Rev. Monsiguor Paul. V.G..North Auckland scenes and subjects. Inglewood's electric light system, and a special full-page picture of rapids on the Arthur River, together with the usual amount of high-class letterpress, contribute to a most attractive number, and a publication which for general public interest stands unrivalled in the colonies.

The W'ekki/v Nr.ws is now issued, and may be obtained from all agents and runners.
