Sydney, March 18. Ir is thought here that a, compromise may now bo made between the Orient Steamship Company and the Federal Govern-, ment, and that a weekly service will be reestablished on the basis of a subsidy of £120,000.

The Prim® Minister (Mr. Rekl) practically admits that he is prepared to increase his offered subsidy to £120,000, provided the Orient Company will meet him by reducing their tender from £140,000 to that amount.
