THE NAVUA. The Union Company's steamer Navtia. Captain I). McLean, arrived from Westport at 12.30 p.m. on Saturday, and was floated into Calliope Dock for cleaning and painting. Mr. A. Murdoch, the purser, reports that the steamer left Westport at 5 a.m. on Thursday, passed Cape Maria Van Diemen at 6.20 p.m. on Friday, and arrived as above. Fine weather prevailed to Cape Maria, Van Diemen; thence thick, rainy weather down the coast to arrival. Tho Navua leaves for Fiji . on Wednesday afternoon. THE MO KOI A. The Union Company's steamer Mokoia. Captain R. E. Smith, arrived from Sydney at 3.45 p.m. yesterday, and after the usual medical and Customs inspection berthed at the Queen-street Wharf. Mr. S. L. Wilson, the purser, reports: The Mokpia left Sydney Wharf at 1.20 p.m. and cleared the Heads at 2.5 p.m. on Wednesday last; was abreast of the Three Kings at 9.30 p.m. on Saturday; rounded the North Cape at 1.30 a.m. yesterday. and arrived as above. Experienced light, varying breezes, smooth sea, and exceptionally fine weather throughout to the North Cape; thence moderate easterly winds and seas down the coast to arrival. The Mokoia proceeds on to East Coast and Southern ports vo-morrow afternoon. THE MANUKA. The Union Company's steamer Manuka. Captain Edwin Phillips, arrived from Southern and East, Coast ports at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. ami berthed at Quay-street Jetty No. 2. Mr. O. 11. Gillon, the purser, reports that the steamer left Port Chalmers at 4.50 p.m. on the 14th ; nst.. and called at Lyttelton. Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne, leaving the latter port at 12.30 p.m. on the 18th. and arriving as above. Experienced light easterly winds and smooth seas throughout. The Manuka leaves for Sydney at 5.50 p.m. to-day. TIIE TAVIUNI. The Union Company's steamer Taviuni. Captain R. G. Button. arrived from the Eastern Pacific on Saturday morning, and after the usual inspection berthed at the Queen-street Wharf. Mr. Caffln, the reports: The Taviuni left Auckland at 5.55 p.m. on February 21. and met with moderate to strong easterly winds and high head sea and squally weather until arrival at Rarotonga on the 28th, at 10.15 a.m.; landed passengers, mails, and cargo, leaving at 4.50 p.m. the .same date for Raiatea, lresh to moderate winds and sea and fine weather being experienced until arrival at Raiatea at 6.30 a.m. on March 3. Left again at 9.15 a.m. for Papeete, which port was reached at 8.40 p.m. the. same date. Pratique was granted, and the steamer remained until 5 p.m. on the sth. when departure was taken for Raiatea. arriving there at 7.30 a.m. oil the 6th, and landed cargo and shipped fruit. Left again at 11.25 a.m. the same date for Mangaia. arriving off the island at 5.45 a.m. on the Bth. and leaving again for Rarotonga at 5.15 p.m. the same date. Arrived at Rarotonga at 6.15 a.m. on the 9th. but owing to a heavy north-east sea breaking on the beach, was unable to work cargo until the 11th. Finished shipping at noon on the 12th. and left for Auckland. Encountered moderate to light breezes and sea and line weather until sighting the Barrier at 5.35 a.m. on Saturday; thence overcast weather and light rain until arrival. THE HAUPIRI. The Union Company's steamer Haupiri. Captain John Campbell, which has replaced the Herald in the East Coast-Auckland trade, arrived from Wellington and East Coast ports on Saturday afternoon. The steamer was formerly known as the Richmond, being owned by Messrs. Donald and Edenborough, of Auckland, and was employed in the Auckland-Islands trade for some years. The steamer left Gisborne at 10 p.m. 'on March 13, experiencing an exceptionally heavy south-east gale and high sea. and arriving at Tologa Bay at 7 a.in. on the 14th. As a terrific sea was running at that bay Captain Campbell decided to make for shelter, arriving at Te Araroa, at 4 p.m., alter a severe buffeting, through which the Haupiri behaved remarkably well. The seas at the East Cape were the highest Captain Campbell had experienced on the coast for some years. The surf at Te Araroa having moderated a little on the morning of the 15th tho Haupiri \va3 able to work the bay. also Whangapararoa, leaving there at 8 p.m. for Limestone Island, and arriving there at 7 p.m. on the 16th, experiencing moderate westerlv winds. After taking aboard cement ! for Wellington she left at 6 a.m. on Saturday for Auckland, arriving as above.
