KURANUI G.M. CO.

The mine, manager of the Kuranui Gold Mining Company's mine reports: the intermediate level is now repaired, and a .start made to drive on lie Sliotover reel. Aft ex consulting with Messrs. Frater and McCullougli, it was deemed advisable to employ all the hands at present on this level, in order to get out a fair quantity of quart/., so as to nave it treated as soon as possible. The drive going south of the shaft is now ill 36ft, which leaves about 45ft more to get in a line with the end of the battery level tunnel. lam strongly of opinion that the lode will be picked up ill this drive, which can be continued later on. MO AX AT ALU* I EXTENDED G.M. CO., LIMITED. The mine .manager of tin; Moanalaiari Extended Hold Mining Company's mine reports:—Fair progress has been made with relaying of the tram road in the Point Passell level. BIG BKK'I Li: G.M. CO. The caretaker of the Big Beetle Gold Mining Company, in a. recent report, slated thai- lie had inspected the reef worked on by McMahon, No. 2 reef, from all parts left open. Fair prospects can still be obtained, but it would need a new rise from the low level to the surface level before any further sloping could be done. 'J he reel where exposed in the low level is very small, and encased in a hard belt of country. He strongly advised the company to do a little more work in one place on the lower level. There was a good prospect to be obtained in (he floor of the level, the reef being about 9in wide, and the country encasing it at this spot seemed rather soft, compared with the general run of the country rock. The place indicated was that direct under M'jMahon's first patch. A winze put down for about 20ft would prove the value of the reef at a. lower point, and perhaps intersect a better channel of country. Ml F.RALS. LI MIT 1).
