THE NEW SYSTEM.

Wellington, Friday. The new system of marking ballot papers, prescribed by the Local Elections Act, 1804, ' will be utilised at the approaching municipal .-.'! elections. Instead of crossing out the names of those for whom he does not intend to vote, ,'.';. the voter will place a cross opposite the name of the candidate or candidates for whom he .•■.'•; intends to vote. The Act. further provides that no voting; paper is to be rejected as infor-■•" mal that clearly indicates tho candidate or : .> candidates for whom tho voter intends to iM VOte.t '- . :■;'■?
