The Union Company's steamer Taviuni is expected to arrive from the Society and Cook Islands on Wednesday next. |? ' THE SONOMA. , Hi Tho mail steamer Sonoma, Captain 0. F. Hcrriman, arrived from Sydney at 6.13 a.m. yesterday, and after the usual medical and v Customs inspection berthed at the Queenstreet Wharf. The Sonoma left Sydney on Monday afternoon last, and met with fine weather on the run across, the voyage being I , accomplished in the good time of three days ' 15 hours. The Sonoma left for island ports ~. and San Francisco at 4 p.m. yesterday. BARQUE OX THE COAST. •t Captain H. Richards, of the Northern Company's steamer Chelmsford, -which arrived rom the North yesterday, reports sighting a barque off the Hen and Chickens on Thurs- * day. The vessel was heading down the coast, ; : - but was too far off to be made out from the Chelmsford. , . . TUB FIFESHIRU The steamer Fifesbire, which is bringing a -.. portion of the cargo of the Buteshire, which was on fire at Capetown on January 1 whilst - on the voyage from New York to Australia and New Zealand, is due at Auckland tomorrow. ■- - THE STAR OF NEW ZEALAND. / . The Tyser liner Star of New Zealand, in continuation of her voyage from New York r ' and Australia, left Sydney for Auckland yesterday, and is due on Wednesday next. , ' THE GI3BORNE. • The schooner Ciaborne, Captain H. Pankow, arrived from Gisborne on Thursday . , night after a passage of six days. She brought tho following cargo: sacks ; manure, 300 sacks maiae, 40 sacks barley, 20 cases meats, 15 cases honey, and sundries.
