THE AMEER'S REQUEST.
A SEAPORT AND A RAILWAY. By Telegraph Press Association Copyright. . (Received January 27, 12.37 a.m.) /.','•'.. London, January 2G. The Ameer of Afghanistan has asked Mr. Louis Dane, the representative of the Indian Government now on a mission, to Cabul, for a strip of land for the purposes of a railway to the sea, and also for a- seaport. This, he considers, would be preferable to a subsidy, and the granting of it, lie thinks, would testify to the friendship of England.
