Fortunately they had a gun, and subsisted on birds. All suffered appreciably, but- not, it is expected, permanently. They were in Worsley Creek region, near Lake Te Anau, and in the vicinity of Franklin Mountain. They claim F >to have discovered a lake of considerable size.
