Gene• ral Sakharoff, reports that at dayi break on Monday the Japanese ad- • vanced and attacked, from Ohangi tan;', on the Him River, and from ■ Takoushan, on the east. They occupied the villages of ; Outiate, Ketaitse and Paousentien. Russian cavalry and artillery, however, dislodged the Japanese and regained the original line of defence. MOBILISATION IN RUSSIA. DISTURBANCES IN MANY PLACES. . TROOPS WITHOUT SUPPLIES. . London, November 8. It is stated that the disturbances that have followed the. mobilisation of the reservists in Russia have been due to the failure of the military authorities either to pay them or provide them with food. Thirty thousand reservists are encamped in open fields at Novogradvolynsk, and their condition is deplorable owing to lack of food and clothes. Delafosse said that Japan had long hesitated whether she should attack Russia or France. It was impossible for France to retain Indo-China in face of Japan's ambitions. M. Doumergue,, Minister for the Colonies, denied that Japan had ever contemplated an attack on France. ".)*.
