RUSSIAN OFFICERS' EXPLANATION.
REPLY OF THE FISHERMEN.
London, October 28.
The Russian officers now at Vigo assert that 50 of the fishing boats continued to advance, despite the signals from the fleet for them to retire. The Amadul, which was leading, signalled, "Am attacked." The warships then fired.
Admiral Roshdestvenski says that some of the wounded on one of his ships were injured during the attack at Dogger Bank. Fresh denials have been given by the Hull fishermen to the statement that there were torpedo-boats among the trawlers. The captain of an outlying trawler at Dogger Bank reports that the last of the Russian warships fired at his vessel at seven o'clock on Saturday morning, A shot passed between her funnel and her foremast. j I
