FURTHER JAPANESE CAPTURES.

London, October 28.

Reports received at Tokio say that the old town of Port Arthur is in flames.

The Japanese made a desperate general attack on Wednesday and silenced the Russian batteries on the most eastern end of the Kekwan forts.

Simultaneously the Japanese stormed and occupied forts on Erhlungshan and Sungshushan,

It was reported some time ago that the fort at Erhnmgshan had _ been captured. The fort of Sungshushan is a mile nearer the harbour than Erhlun<.rshan, and the hill is 337 ft high.
