There ia on exhibition for - to-day only in the windows of the Tonson Garliok Company, Ltd., a very handsome carved Gothic reredos Ltd., a Very handsome carved Gothic TRwu'dO's in,solid rimu. The work has been carried, cut by the'.company;; to designs sup )hdd by Mr. George Gregory, who ha? also personally doae the carving. The - ' whole affords a fine example of .the suitability of Now Zealand woods for such purposes,' and is a piece of really fine workmanship. The gala nights promoted by the. Trades Council Labour Day Committee are to be held in the Federal Hail, Wellesley-efcreet, this evening and Monday evening next. The items consist of a cake ,walk competition, wrestling contests, and a tug-of-war ohaiaS'onship., held over from the Domain Labour ay sports*. These are to be interspersed with tiongs, dances, and other items by our leading professionals and amateurs.
