Before his departure his cojnradea in the force presented him with a handsome case of silver-mounted pipes and a tobacco pouch, -suitably inscribed. Mrs." Malcomson Boult and Mr. Scott Colville, were entertained at a complimentary dinner in recognition of their services to the Auokhwd Dramatic Society. Dr. De Clive Lowe presided, and during the evening presented Mrs. Boult with & silver fruit and cake stand, and Mr. Colville with a dressing- " case and requisites. " Mr. ; Isidore Alexander, who is leaving Auckland on a visit to Australia and Europe on Monday next, was entertained by the menaßersi of the German Club on 'Wednesday evening last. Mr. Langguth presided, and during the evening presented - Mr. Alexander with a very handsome goldmounted walking-stick, with engravings of New Zealand birds, etc., as a mark of the esteem in which he is held by the members of the club. Mr. Alexander suitably replied, thanking the members for their present. A pleasant musical evening was enjoyed by those attending.
