Lady Dilke was born ia-1840, the daughter of Major Henry Strong. • 1$ 1863 she mar«; ried the Rev. Mark Pattison, rector of Lincoln College, Oxford. In 1885 she married Sir Charles Dilke, M.P. For many years she was fine art critic to the Academy magazine, and contributed to the Saturday Re« view, the Annual Register, the Art Journal* and other publications. She published «eve« ral books, mostly on art subjects. / •
