DEATH OF NEWLY-BORN TWINS
AN INQUEST. ~'"■■ I*l TEIECTAr-H.—PEESS ASSOCIiIION.'J DtfirEDiN, ' Tuesday. An inquest was opened at Balcluths to-day touching the death of newly-born twins. Bussanah Wainwriglit, single, employed as a {J housekeeper with .a farmer *t Waitepeka,'..: , 'left the house of her employer on Sunday morning. After her departure trace* of; recent confinement were found in the stable,, '~ \ and the police were communicated with. Oa Monday a constable found the woman at fts railway station, near the fan i, with a carpet bag' containing the bodies of two inianfl. She stated that they had been born on 'Saturday ni"ht, and died. The father, si l : said, was at.lnvereargill, -and she Was on hi)r vay r there. Evidence was given that the woman / would not be in a fit condition to appear . for nine days'. The coroner 'Stated that a postmortem had been held on the bodies. There : " : were no marks of violence, but the police • were making investigations, and the ibduirj ; could not go on in the woman's absence. The inquest was adjourned accordingly till : .'
