A telegram was received at Tokio yesterday stating that reports Lave reached the Japanese army that the Russians are concentrating on the left of their line against General Kuroki, and that a detachment of Russian cavalry has,crossed the Toitse River at a point to the east of Ponnsihu. SHAHO RAILWAY STATION. REOCCUPIED BY THE RUSSIANS. , London, October 23, General Kuropatkin reports that at nightfall on Thursday the Japanese retired from Suyatun, the station at the Sha River, after the station had been shelled. The retreat of the Japanese was precipitate. They abandoned arms, ammunition and stores. A previous Russian report said the Japanese had abandoned guns at Suyatun. THE SHAHO BATTLE, THE RUSSIAN LOSSES. RECOVERY OP THE WOUNDED. London, October 23. Field-Marshal Oyama reports that his investigations up to Saturday in the battle of Shaho show that the Japanese captured. 100 prisoners, 45 guns, 6974 shells, and 5474 rifles. Of Russian dead 10,550 had been found. "" The St., Petersburg correspondent of the Echo de Paris says that- 70 per cent, of the Russian sick and wounded re;oin the ranks within a fortnight. The wounds are slight unless abdominal. The copper-cased bullets used by the Japanese . reserves, however, inflict a dangerous wound.
