BAPTIST CONFERENCE.
[BY TELEGRAPH. ASSOCIATION ] Dunedin, Monday. At the Baptist Conference a scheme for improving the position of ministers and raising their status, and providing manses, was submitted. After discussion, a committee was appointed to confer with the Finance Committee of the Hanover-street Church, and report, if possible, during the present session. Thy Revs. S. Parkins, 1). Sinclair Mas-Mi, Charles Boyle, and E. M. Kirwood were accepted as ministerial members of the union. A motion to inaugurate a New Zealand Baptist Total Abstinence Society was lost; also a motion to alter the constitution so as to' permit of the appointment of lady delegates. In the evening a discussion took place on the relation of the Church to money and labour. . . •
