AUCKLAND WEEKLY NEWS.

NOW ISSUED. HANDSOME ILLUSTRATIONS. The current issue of the Auckland Weekly News contains a remarkable variety of attractive illustrations, which will appeal to a. very wide public. All the recent current events of interest are dealt with, besides numerous town and industrial views, and some of the scenic beauties of both the North and South Islands. The double-page of the number is devoted to striking panoramic views of Dunldin, Wanganui, and Kelburn, a rising residential suburb of Wellington. The pictures are exceedingly comprehensive, that of Dunedin showing a fine stretch of the harbour, and the whole of the progressive Southern city. The view of Wanganui, taken from St. John's Hill, shows something of the size and situation of the rapidly growing town, and that of Ke'.burn, one of Wellington's rising suburbs, depicts the difficulties , which have to be overcome bv Wellington residents in securing residential sites on the extremely broken country which surrounds the Empire City. The Auckland-Poverty Bay hockey match, played at Remuera last Saturday, is well illustrated. South Island scenes and subjects include some picturesque views of the principal Southern centres, and a special full-page picture of the Grey Valley, Westland, from Brunnerton. A fine series of war pictures deals with some of the most notable incidents in the recent fi rce confl'cts between the Russians and Japanese, and pictures of New Zealand's gold mining industry comprise scenes on the Coromandel goldfields and alluvial mining in Southland. Numerous other views, groups, and portraits, including an excellent cartoon on the recent Parliamentary land debate over the freehold and leasehold ouestion, the Auckland Horticultural Society's spring show, the Union Steamship Company's new steamer Navua, the proposed Waikato-Mami-kau canal, and New Zealand's tennis representatives, together with the usual amount of high-class' letterpress, contribute to a most attractive number, and a publication which, for general public interest, stands unrivalled in the colonies. The Weekly News is now issued, and may be obtained from all agents and runners.
