PARNELL MISSION BEE. A SALE of ■work organised by the children of the Parnell Young People's Bee, in aid of Maori, Melanesia!.], and general missions, was opened at St. Mary's Parish Hall on Saturday afternoon by Mrs. Neligan. Several stalls laden with articles of utility and fancy work showed what good efforts had been devoted to the cause by the boys and girls forming the bee under the supervision ot Miss Lodge. It was also striking evidence of what may spring from small beginnings. Four or five years ago the bee was commenced by two children, until now it is a growing band of workers which has succeeded in awaking very general interest and in obtaining practical assistance. The children are taught to value the labour they give, not for the mere monetary return, but for the good use that money is put to. The Rev. Canon MacM'urray introduced Mrs. Neligan, and after an interesting and earnest address that lady declared the sale open. A choir, comprised mostly of children, then Bang a hymn. During the afternoon a- thriving business was driven at the various stalls. ' THE WOODS-WILLIAMSON DRAMATIC COMPANY.
