AN ARTIST'S MISFORTUNE.

PICTURES DESTROYED BY FIRE. [BY TELEGRAPH.— PRKSS ASSOCIATE'.] Nelson, Thursday. To-night the residence of Mr. Charles N. Worsley, the well-known artist, situated in Mount-street, was totally destroyed by fire, together with the contents, including the artist's sketches of a life-time, and in many lands, besides a valuable art collection. There was only £300 insurance on the furniture. Mr. and Mrs. Worsley left the house apparently safe, an hour and a-half before the fire. It is impossible to estimate the loss, which is most serious to the artist, while the paintings were worth a large gum.
