Unlike his New Zealand prototype, the Canadian worker is opposed to the principle of compulsory arbitration. There is no Arbitration Act in Canada, and on each occasion on which the matter has been brought up the annual Conference of Labour Unionists has rejected all proposal*? in the direction of securing such an Act.
