ACTION FOR POSSESSION OF LAND.
[BY TEL'EGKAriI."—PRESS. ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Monday. Me. and Mrs. Aonew, who gained notoriety some years ago in Wellington and Dunedin over their alleged grievances, were before the Court at Naseby to-day, when an application was made for an order to give up possession of land which they have occupied for some years. The land was sold by the mortgagee some time ago, and a Mr. Armitage became the purchaser, but his attempts to obtain lawful possession were frustrated. After patiently listening to the ramblings of husband and wife, Mr. T. MeEnnis, S.M., made an order for possession. The Agriews were then charged with assaulting Armitage, who asked that they be bound over to keep the peace. They were ordered to find one surety each in a sum of £10, and to bind themselves in £20 to keep the peace. The sureties not being forthcoming, they were sent to prison.
