THE LATE MR. A. J. ANDREW.
DEATH FROM EXPOSURE AND EXHAUSTION. (nv telegraph.— association,] Wellington, Wednesday. At the inquest on the body of Mr. A. J. Andrew, who was bushed while deer-stalk-ing, evidence showed that the cause of death was damp and cold. The left leg was bruised below the knee, which would impede walking, but no bones were broken or sprained. From his appearance it was evident that the unfortunate man had travelled through very rough country, and had dropped from exhaustion. Deceased's body was found about nine miles from his camp, and about five miles from another camp of deer-stalk-ers. A verdict of " Died from exposure and exhaustion" was returned.
The body was brought to town to-day for burial. There was a large attendance at the funeral, among those present being the Premier, the Native Minister, the Mayor, several councillors, and members of the Law Society, the Acclimatisation Society, the Wellesley Club, vestry of St. Mark's Church, and other bodies with which the deceased was connected.
