RAILWAY FATALITY.

[by TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchvrch, Wednesday. Last night, a young man named John Cowper, 24 years of age, who was acting as a shunter 011 the railway, was accidentally killed in the Lvtteltou yard. Deceased was riding on one of the, waggons of the express train from Gladstone pier to No. 2 jetty to go alongside the Wellington steamer. Another waggon standing on the line which joins that on which the train was running was set in motion by a sudden gust of wind, and came into collision with the waggon on which Cowper was travelling. His body was badly crushed, his back was fractured, and each of his legs was broken above the knee.
