The French firm of iJariacq and Co,, mo-tor-builders, etc., have in order a monster racing machine, of not less than -160 horsepower. The car will bo driven by two fourcylinder motors, acting independently, one situated in front and the other at the rear of the ear. Tho top speed that the engines will drive the machine is calculated to be 100 miles per hour, and it is intended to run the car uy to the limit. The "Comet." as jhe morisstei will bo called, has bean ordered by the American representative of the firm of M. T.a Roche, who will use it for racing purposes.

The course of this year's motor-car contest for tho Gordon Bonnet Cup is 861 miles round, and as this circuit has to be negotiated four times, the exact distance of the race will lie 346 miles. The surface is said to bo excellent, and the width of tho road varies from seven yards to fifteen yards. All rathe, including the train service on level crossings mi the course, is to be stopped on the day of the contest. Eight countries will be represented in tlm race this year by three pars each.
