[BY telegraph.—press association.] Westport, Sunday. The Westport Coal Company's output last week was 5.155 tons 4ewt. ; Palmeeston North, Saturday. Exceptionally Large dairy and produce entries are already in hand for the Mituawatu A. and P. Association's winter show, opening in June. In export butter, 35 factories will be represented, and 10 in the novice classes. Forty entries have been received for the cheese division. Timare, Saturday. At an auction of lets in the township of Brookland, near the new i.'areora freezing works, 76 quarter-acre lots were sold to 24 persons at frotn the reserve of £20 each to £40 for the corners, the average being £24. Seven one-acre lots averaged £38 10s, and two three-quarter-acre lots £62. Forty acres of suburban lots were taken at £30 per acre. Wellington - , Saturday. During the ruu of the'steamer Turakina from Wellington to Monte Video a second saloon passenger, Mrs. Hamilton, of Otaki, died of apoplexy. Speaking at the opening of the Hutt bridge, the Premier said he hoped the next function there would be the turning of the first sod of the new straight railway line between Hutt Mid Wellington. It was owing to delay in the preparation of the plans that the first sod was not turned a month ago.
