There is (says an exchange) a possibility of Mr. J. D. Wilson contesting the Pahiatua seat, now held by Mr. J. O'Meara, at the forthcoming general election. Mr. Wilson is an ex-Mayor of Pahiatua, and is well known in the Bush district. The other • candidates who intend to come out are Messrs. W. H. Hawkins, Captain Bolton, and R. Smith. The opening meeting of St. John's Literary and Musical Society will take place in the schoolroom, Ponsonby Road, this evening. ( . . .
