Sir Clements Markham (President of the Royal Geographical Society) declares that the results of the Discovery Antarctic Expedition are magnificent, and double what the Royal Geographical Society expected. The impressions of plants are, he says, alone worth the whole expedition, proving that a warmer climate once prevailed in the Antarctic regions.
