FIRE AT PONSONBY.
'A fire occurred at the residence of Mr. Thomas, next door to Mr. T. T. Masefield's, in SarshV.d-street, Ponsonby, at an early hour this morning. The building, which consisted of six rooms, was almost entirely destroyed, in spite of the efforts of the tire brigade. The house was owned by Mr. Maseheld, and was insured for about £2CO, the furniture was also insured.
