BOWLING.
I have received from the hon. secretary of the Auckland Bowling Association (Mr. B. J. Esam) a copy of the conditions for the Easter tournament, to be held on April 2 ' and 4. For the benefit of intending competitors I give below the principal conditions:— Inter-club, Pennant Flag and First Year Players' Matches: All full rink matches shall be divided into sections; encb section to play_ to a finish; winners of each section playing the final, and the winner of the final shall be declared the winner of the pennant flag. Any club entering for pennant matches must provide two rinks, an' 1 for first year players' match one rink. There roust be no interchange ot players between the rinks. Subscription Pairs Mid Single Matches: These shall be played concurrently with the inter-club matches, winners against winners, until concluded, and on any rinks available for the purpose. If any competitor or competitors shall fail to turn up for play at the proper time, the opponent or opponents may claim a bye. N. player shall be allowed to ' enter - for more than one event. All entrance fees to be handed. to the secretary of tho association , at the time of entry, viz., on or before March 24, 1904, on which date the secretary will be in attendance at the Sports Club Rooms, His Majesty's Arcade, between; half-past seven and half-past eight p.m. General Conditions Applying to all ~ Matches: The rules of the Northern Bowling Association of New Zealand shall be followed during the tournament, if not inconsistent with these conditions. All games shall bo 21 heads up, drawn heads to count. If a tie at that point, each team or club shall score half a game, and in the event of two clubs tieing in the final of any section, an extra three heads shall be played to the winner; the same rule to apply in the final between the sections—three heads to decide any tic % All;, "competitors? must be bona-fido members of the club.they arc playing for, and must weal the olub colours. All bowls must bear either the maker's stamp of not less than No. 3 bias, or that of the Northern 5 , or Auckland Bowling Association. Bowlers to remain at the end from which they play until ' the third players . have delivered their last bowls, then all change ends with the skip. All .disputes to be referred to the ■Tournament' Committee, and the decisiorof the -latter shall be -'final. Play for all events to start each day at nine a.m.
