• THE ZEALANDIA. The Huddart-Parker steamer Zealandia, Captain W. J. Wyllie, arrived from Southern »nd East Coast ports at 12.15 p.m. yesterday, berthing at the Queen-street wharf. Mr, Benson, the purser, reports that the steamer left Dunedin on Tuesday afternoon last, and called at Lyttleton, Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne. Left the latter port at 1.40 p.m. on Saturday, and arrived as above. Experienced light to fresh north and west winds on the passage. The Zealandia proceeds on to Sydney at 5.30 p.m. to-day. FRENCH VESSELS RACING. Three sailing ships sailed from San Francisco on January 21 for Sydney, two of them in a race for the Australian port. Captain Blanche, of the French barque Ernest Legouve, and Contain Ricordel, of the French barque Nantes, made a wager on the result of the race between their vessels. Both of the French barques are In ballast. The British ship Wayfarer, Captain Tupman, also sailed in ballast on January 21, and men who know the ships say he will arrive at Sydney ahead of either of the Frenchmen. THE C. TOBIAS LEAKING. The Norwegian barque, C. Tobias, bound fr from Newcastle to Honolulu, with a cargo of coal, put into Auckland last night in distress.
