Suva, January M. News Las been received that Levuka was wrecked by tie recent hurricane Many buildings were levelled to ike ground- and all a.e more or less changed.

Munro, Morris, arid Hedstrom. Mr. Rogers and his wife were, rescued from tho debris of their dwelling after several hours' confinement. Tho following residences tit Levuka wee damaged: — Messrs. Spaeth's, Landi dale's, Hedstrom':?, Wilson's, Millar's, the i Polynesian Hotel, Captain Wilson's, and ! Mr. Gallagher's. I Many residents and natives took refuge in the convent memorial hall and the churches. Thousands of pounds' wcrth of stock were damaged. Tho steamer Yaralla reports that Taviuni Island escaped the hurricane. Six Indians at Navua were drowned.
