Mr Hansen managing director of the Auckland Electric Tramways Company wrote staling that the tramctra now carried a life-guard at each end. Two cars had so far not been fitted with the guards, but they would be equipped as quickly as possible' .No car was permitted to leave the depot in the mornings unless the life-guards were in proper order. He nad requested his company m London to look into the merits of a new life-guard, which had been brought under his notice. Th letter was received.
