MANUKAU YACHT CLUB.
The Manukau Yacht Club held their tliird race of the season on Saturday afternoon last, the prize being an oil painting, presented by Mr. C. W. Foster, vice-president, and cash. 'J he course and conditions were the same as those for the first two races, yachts getting places being awarded points foi the- club's handicap cup. The following were the handicaps:—Maka Maiic, scraich ; Aioa, o:n.; Eisis, Din.; Pastime, 6m.; Alma, Bin.; Malua, Bm.; Limnoria, Bm.; May Bee, 14m.; Ida, 21m. ; Endeavour, 23m.; Mascoite, 24in.; Myrtle, 25m.; Presto, 28m.; industry, 28m. ; Petrel, 39rn. ; Aiatia, 40m. All the yachts were sent away punctually, the scratch boat starting at a quarterpast" three- p.m. The strong ebb title favoured the limit boats to a great extent, Myrtle rounding the buoy the first time round fully a minute ahead ox Mascotte, while Alma and Malua hung together all the way round, making a great race of it. Pastime was not sailing well. The times rounding the dolphin off railway wharf the first time round were:—Myrtle, 3ii. 49m.; Mascotte, 3m. 59m.; Endeavour, 3h. 51m.; Petrel, 3h. 52im. ; Presto, 3h. 54£ m. ; May Bee, 3b. 54£ m.; Ida, 3h. 57>>rn. ; Alma, 3h. 57£ m. ; Malua, 3h. 57£ m. ; Elsie, 3h. 58m.; Limnoria, 4h. lm. : Pastime, 4h. l^m.; Maka Maile, 4h. 22m. In the- second round Mascotte hung well to Myrtle, while Elsie, Malua and Alma were making a good race if it. Op the run back to the wharf Mascotte overtook Myrtle about half-a-mile from the finishing-line, while Malua improved hoiposition. The finishing times were:—Mascotte, 4h. 46m.; Myrtle, 4h. 47jm.; Malua, 4h. 48m. ; Alma, 4h. 48m. 255. ; Elsis, 4h. 48m. 595.; Endeavour, 4h. 49i,m.; Maka Maile, 4h. 50im. ; Ida, 4h. 55in. ; May Bee, 4h. 55m. 255. ; Limnoria, 4h. 57m. ; Pastime, 4h. 58m.; Presto, sh. l|m.; Petrel, sh. 2m. The following yachts are so far leading in points for the Cup:—Elsie, 21 points; Ida, 20 points: May Bee', 19 points, Make Maile, 17 points; Myrtle, 16 points; Malua, 13 points; Mascotte, 12 points; Alma, 11 points. The next race will in all probability bo sailed on Saturday week.
