Thk executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union met to-day, when a letter, received from the head office, covering a petition in favour of granting the freehold to Crown tenants and requesting the executive to distribute the same among the branches in the province, was read. The executive considered it inadvisable to adopt this course, and referred the petition back to the head office.
